After sitting down and writing all about being positive, I had a major Hulk Menace negativity slip.  😦  Oops.

Huge food success yesterday.  2800+ healthy calories.  I have decided to experiment with wraps, so yesterday I smashed myself a turkey-swiss spinach wrap.  I’ve never been good at rolling burritos and I always overfill my tacos.  These skills translate to wrap-ping, so I struggled and designed a cucumber-dill dressing disaster.  Oddly enough, after being refrigerated all day, it stayed together well.  And was filling.  Despite the lack of bread-stuffs.  I’m quite pleased with how it turned out, and have another for today. It kills me that 6 tortillas cost $3.59 and a loaf of bread is $1.99, though…

I brought clementines and energy bites to ward off the Dove Dark Chocolates (the stash of which Karen refilled yesterday.)  Success!  Those energy bites rock.  Remind me again why I didn’t make them the past few weeks?  I jammed on a spinach salad and a smoothie-shake (what’s the difference?) before practice yesterday.  Waaay more than enough, even for a 3hr. night.  I didn’t have a snack before scrimmage, or even afterwards.  Chia seeds keep your blood sugar regulated, and your tummy full.  Considering they were in everything I ate yesterday…  must be true.  🙂

Practice was… practice.  My backwards skating has improved tremendously the past week alone.  Misto hugely helped last Thursday.  When crossing over, she told me to keep my feet on the ground.  Aha!  I can still only do it going the correct direction, but yesterday I worked on the foot movement to cross the wrong direction and improved.  Baby steps.  At scrimmage…  well first I was pleased to have four refs.  Really.  It was such a relief seeing them all show up.  I’d have been happy with three, four was amazing! Yay.  I played… okay.  I fucked up a few times and did some good things as well.  But.  Positive Polly focuses on the things she did well, so…

  • I didn’t give up.  Jamming against a Sweets-Nona-Bijou-??? wall I pushed and pushed and fought and fought and got a high block and went to the box.  But Sweets said it wasn’t really a high block.  😀  Regardless: I didn’t give up.  I kept pushing and pushing and maybe I didn’t get through, but someday soon I will.
  • Cass jamming…  seconds on the jam clock.  I dropped back and nailed someone out of Cass’s way so she scored her points as time expired.  I’m not so good at the drop back (the clockwise “danger zone,” so to speak,) so this was pretty cool.
  • Last jam, power jam Menace.  I get out of the pack and look at the jam clock.  8 seconds to get back around and through again.  Fuuuck.  My instinct is to conserve energy, w/ 8 seconds I’m not getting around the track and back through… but I’ve seen She Who lap a pack and score in 8 seconds, so fuck it.  I sped up, got around the track, and with the help of an amazing offensive hit from Cass, scored my 5 points.  Fuck yeah!  … and that was the end of scrimmage.  😀

I’ve still got an Apex-Jumping mental block.  I think I have to skip practice tomorrow (we’re hosting a playoff basketball game.  They haven’t asked me to run the clock, perhaps due to the faux pas from Saturday… perhaps b/c they think I intuitively know to be here… not sure.) So maybe I’ll hit up Saturday Scrimmage and focus on my hops.  (My hops, my hops, my lovely lady hops?)

I peed like a mofo yesterday.  Turns out the “monthly gift” approaches rapidly.  And I feel great. So maybe that outburst Sunday was related.

I had five packages arrive at noon yesterday!  My black Levi’s Skinny jeans–which don’t fit–so Rebel, I will be returning them.  😉  Sheets, car-charger, birth control (I wear NuvaRing so it comes in a refrigerated package which amuses me.  It must be expensive to ship.  But I don’t care, b/c with insurance those bitches run me $90 a piece and shipping is “free.”) and… my Spin Shoes!!! YAY.

I was so excited, I got a matching outfit together and on with my new shoes (including black socks so I was totally black & teal,) then rushed off to Spin Class early so Leslie (who is always 20-30 minutes early) could help me figure them out.)  So first.  Leslie wasn’t there (apparently she had to emergency-teach a Zumba class.)  The nice chatty white bike shorts guy who stole my bike was there, though, and since I now ride the bike next to it, I asked him for help.  He was really nice and helpful and fortunately only the outer thigh part of his shorts is white.  (The rest is gray/black.)

*Blushes.*  Fortunately there were only three people there.  Him, a nice lady, and this old guy who wears jeans and a sweatshirt and doesn’t really even use the cages for his feet.  I need to go to a bike store and get fitted for/purchase cleats for them to clip in to the pedals.  Oops.  I thought they looked funny.  I was amused but also embarrassed, so I immediately text Rowdy and Sunny.  Then Leslie showed up, and guess what???  Same shoes as me!!!  (Hers had cleats, though… ) How cool is that?  😀  (I text Sunny and Rowdy this as well.  Details.  They’re important.)

So I used the cages yet again.  *Sigh.*  The shoes were still better than my Nike’s even not clipped in.  They’re sturdier, so.  Well.  Think brown bombers to Riedell skates…. without toe stops… or wheels… *blinks.*  Anyway spin was hard but super awesome and I was glad to be there (but even more glad when it was over.)

I ate a lot, but I dunno.  Other than the candy corn, cookies, chocolates, and wine… 😉  Okay, I guess that’s a lot of extra calories, huh?  I need to get my shit together.

Practice & Scrimmage tonight… excited.  I wanna try the assist I “invented” Monday.  Likely won’t be effective at a FC scrimmage, but hey.  Worth a try.  Oh, also, I wrote this really dramatic pep talk for “The World” for Saturday.  Wait for it.  It’ll be EPiC’ly amusing.  (And humorous, I think…  we’ll see.)

Take that, Dove Chocolates. Suck my veggies!

Food: 2493/ 1717

  • Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Muffin w/ 1% milk
  • Luna bar, apple, greek yogurt w/ fruit & granola
  • White bread, swiss, ham sammie.  VitaRain Sport.  Yoplait Greek w/ fruit and granola.  Might Mango Naked smoothie.
  • Spaghetti and Meatballs w/ white bread garlic toast and red wine.

Exercise:

  • Short Reilly walk
  • Spin Class w/ Leslie (lots of hills)

I don’t get it.  14,000+ steps yesterday and Spin Class and it still wants me to eat 1700 calories?  eff you again Fitbit.  Argh.  And I weighed in at 153 again this morning.  Boo.  I think I may have topped out (err… down?)  I think I might not care.  😦

I avoided the chocolate yesterday.  Not a single one.  VICTORY IS MINE.  Bwahahaha.  Suck that Dove.  Suck it hard.  (The verb “suck” has me visualizing that sweet delicious chocolate melting in my mouth… the way it crumbles when I bite into it… you thought I was going to say something else, didn’t you?  Naughty.)

Got home from work, browsed the pantry thinking Spaghetti and Meatballs, and then it had to be made.  I was craving it.  Could have been worse–I could have had cheese tortellini’s and meatballs.  Tim “made” it for me when I got home from Spin.  (He got everything started then I finished cooking it.)  He made Garlic Toast w/ buttered white bread and garlic salt.  Blech.  Double Blech.  I couldn’t handle the salt.  I ate both my pieces, granted, but ew.  I have even explained to him that we have a giant Costco thing of garlic in the frige as well as regular garlic seasoning instead of garlic “salt” for this purpose.  Alas, he is a man and seems to be lacking the gene to comprehend this statement.  But he made me dinner!  ❤

My tummy was bothering me.  Not like it was bothering me in August, like too much fiber bothering me.  Or maybe too much heavy food.  Anyway, I ate and drank slowly.  I thought for a minute I wouldn’t finish my wine.  But I did.  😉

So.  Dilemma.  Leslie’s teaching Spin tomorrow.  I *soooo* want to go.  Saturday’s are 1hr 15min “endurance” rides.  Plus its Leslie.  Last week, though, after “speed skating” Friday night… I barely handled Body Combat and Body Pump.  I don’t know if I can do it.  And I *do* need to be lifting.  Saturdays are my lifting days. But Leslie.  Spin. That would make my week look like this: Thursday: Spin.  Friday: Speed Skate/Off Skate.  Saturday: Spin.  Sunday: Bloody Sunday.  Monday: Derby.  Tuesday: off.  That’s a lot of cardio and a lot of legs.  Not advisable.  I think I’ll do it.

How to gain 5lbs in one day

No really.  See:

I weighed in at 153.8lbs this morning.  After the restroom.  Holy oops.  I don’t think Cheat Days work for me.  😦

Food:

  • Jimmy Dean Delights Canadian Bacon Egg white sammie with Orange Juice
  • Greek Yogurt w/ fruit and granola, apple, 1/2 Pumpkin Costco Muffin
  • 2 pieces pepperoni pizza, 1/2 chicken breast and colby jack sammie on sourdough, 1% cottage cheese, Fuze Slenderize, Chocolate cake (with cream filling)
  • Dirty Martini w/ Bleu Cheese Olives
  • Dirty Martini w/ Olives, Coconut Shrimp, Caesar Salad, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, 8oz Filet Mignon, Lobster tail (with butter,) Red Wine, Ice Cream Sundae (Toasted coconut, chocolate sauce, real whipped cream, vanilla ice cream)  (This meal from The Outback Steakhouse–we love it there.)

Exercise:

  • 2.5 mile Reilly walk

I’m hoping the nearly 5lbs I weighed more this morning is just food still working its way through the plumbing, if you know what I mean.  After dinner, I went into a food coma at like…8pm (if that.)

Also–discovered FitBit bases my calories on my weight.  😉  Good to know.
