I’m feeling sucky.  I missed Tuesday spin b/c of basketball.  I missed Thursday spin b/c of basketball.  I missed Saturday spin b/c…  I just didn’t go today.  And I skipped my push ups and sit ups.  Naughty Menace.

Balance is a goal, right?  I can’t seem to figure it out.  Basketball is getting in the way.  I either have to skip spin or Tim time.  (It doesn’t interfere w/ derby.)  Last night I skipped Speed Skating for Tim time–I made him dinner before the party.  It was delicious and a good decision.  Then I got home at 1am and so slept in a bit instead of going to Saturday Spin.  I’m feeling panicky about it, especially in light of my upcoming week:

Tomorrow–scrimmage.  Monday–practice.  Tuesday–basketball.  Wednesday–practice.  Thursday–Valentine’s Day, Friday…  Speed Skating?  Saturday… Spin?

I’m thinking if I go to work late Wednesday, I can hit the early morning Spin Class…  and maybe feel less guilty.  I dunno.  Otherwise it’ll be 2+ weeks no spin class.  !!!  What if I don’t make it??!!

Do you ever annoy yourself?

Food: way over

Exercise: way under

  • walked Reilly.

Yeah, no push ups or sit ups yesterday.  Then I skipped Spin Class b/c Tim wanted me to have dinner and a movie with him.  Probably a good thing since my legs feel like death.  We cooked dinner together.  We used to do that all the time.  Tim even found a recipe on Cooking Light–except it ended up not being from Cooking Light… but it was good.  He drives me nuts a bit, so I had to be extra patient.  Here are the ingredients we were missing from the recipe: fresh mango (substituted canned pineapple,) curry powder (substituted cumin, turmeric, chili powder, and coriander), fresh ginger (substituted powdered,) coconut milk (substituted 1% milk & some coconut), red curry paste (substituted garlic chili stuff…), cauliflower (brussel sprouts,) green onions (omit).  I’ll substitute a thing or two.  Fresh for ground ginger, ok.  But that was like half of the ingredients.  It turned out good.  I guess.  I dunno.  The sauce wasn’t creamy, but watery…  Tim thinks it was supposed to be.  Flavor was good, but that was weird.  Then we watched Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, we had also seen it in the theatre.  It was good.

I drank most of a bottle of wine, took a muscle relaxor, and slept like a baby.  Finally.  I’ve been laying in bed awake for hours lately.  I feel lazy for skipping exercise, but balance is one of my goals as well, so I just focused on that yesterday.  I love Tim.  He’s a good husband.  Sweet.  With pretty green eyes.  Oh–and Reilly slept in my lap while we watched the movie, and Paris (the cat) slept on my chest but sort of touching Reilly, which was good b/c they hate each other.  (Reilly sniffs Paris’ butt and he doesn’t like that.)

I’m not starting til Monday! But….

Food:

  • Egg, 2 pieces wheat toast w/ butter and simply blueberry jam, four turkey sausage links
  • Honey almond butter and simply blueberry on wheat
  • Chocolate…  bacon cheese ball…  triscuits (those are healthy!)…
  • Dirty assed martini with extra olives (apparently olives are healthy, too.)

Exercise:

  • 2.5 mile Reilly walk
  • Nona League Practice

Oi.  Practice last night.  Nona ran a back to basics practice, that was full to the hilt and left me waking up with that train-wreck feeling.  I’ve only been a lazy slug since we went on derby break—Dec. 21.  If you don’t recall, I continued my workouts and ate mostly healthy through the 21st.  Why?  Well I had big exercise plans for break, but then I got sick, and then I got lazy, soo… yeah.

Anyway, 10 days off.  And in those 10 days, I hit a Speed Skating class, a Spin class, and a scrimmage.  So I wasn’t even that much of a lazy slug.

But fuck.  We did 50 laps, broken into 20-10-20 last night.  My back screamed at me the entire time.  I didn’t get winded at all, but my back was like “fuck you, fuck you, fuck you” with every stride.  Rowdy tried to save me–we tried to partner and lap each other at every corner.  It worked for about three laps, but there were too many other people lapping us also for us to maintain our pattern consistently.  I also got some nice encouragement from Gaygan and Pippi (so glad to have Pip back) which was nice, but I wasn’t feeling very tough last night.

Sooo… basically what I’m saying is, even though I’m a lazy fuck, I am excited about re-focusing on eating and exercising because I don’t like how I have been feeling lately.
